Tree Description:
0-006 Several Osage-orange (Maclura pomifera) trees plus a few stumps remain from a boundary hedge row planted in 1865 according to the minutes of the Oak Ridge Board of managers. At least one of these trees is fully thornless and is being propagated as a cultivar. We are watching to see which of the trees are males and which are females because the males are fruitless.
