Pin Oak

Tree Description:

0-022    One of several pin oak trees (Quercus palustris) at Oak Ridge, this is the first large tree you will encounter on your right upon entering the gate. Pin oaks are tolerant of transplanting and are frequently seen in residential areas, but they need acidic, moist soil to thrive. There are several of these trees in the cemetery, including one just up the road to your right. They were not native in Oak Ridge and were planted sometime during the 20th century.
