96-14a –Hybrid oaks are found frequently in Illinois, and one of the most common (Quercus xbebbiana) are crosses of white oak with bur oak. One of the most famous is the Taco Oak, found in western Springfield and named and propagated from there. It now is grown worldwide. But this one came from a beautiful tree in Washington Park that since has been removed.
