Bur Oak – 0-116

2025 Tour

Tree Description:

0-116– Bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa) is scattered around the grounds, and several of them pre-date the founding of the cemetery. They are content in many different habitats and are one of the most widespread of all American oaks. Acorns from this splendid tree were used to make several younger trees planted elsewhere in Oak Ridge long ago, now maturing rapidly. Find an acorn below it and plant a piece of Oak Ridge at home.
