0-099 – This is the ortet erect-formed excurrent tree that produced several beautiful Cory oaks (Quercus xcoryana) planted on the cemetery grounds since 1994. This hybrid of chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) and swamp white oak (Quercus bicolor) was confirmed by the famous Morton Arboretum dendrologist Dr. George Ware in the early 1990s. It presents the more typical form of this hybrid oak, as compared with Tree 0-098. Watch for its offspring as you explore Oak Ridge. Acorns mature in one season.
