94-09 –The Deam Oak (Quercus ×deamii) is a natural hybrid that also grows as the national champion of its kind south of Lake Springfield. This one was grown from a specimen that was once here in Oak Ridge that favored the bur oak parent (Quercus macrocarpa) but had intermediate bark and foliage that shows the form of chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii). Look for these traits in this second generation tree.
