Tree Description:
94-15b – The Emperor or Diamyo Oak (Quercus dentata) can be found in several locations at Oak Ridge, with specimens grown from different sources. This one came via the Morton Arboretum from a wild source in China. It develops attractive large leaves and a picturesque shaggy outline, and bears acorns with classic fairy-hat fringed cupules. Feel free to take an acorn if our tree is bearing seeds this year.
