94-08 – The European Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur) is one of the most adaptable, variable, and easily cultivated of all oaks worldwide. Examples are found over a massive natural range throughout Europe in many climate zones and habitats. It also is one of the most long lived of oaks, and this one was grown from an ancient thousand year-old grove of oak trees in the national forest preserve Naturschutzgebiet, Kuehkopf-Knoblochsaue, Germany.
