Tree Description:
00-06 –The rare Quercus haas (Haas Oak) becomes a large, spreading oak with long peduncles (seed stalks) from Asia Minor. This tree was grown from seed collected from the original tree of its kind found and brought into cultivation, at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, France in 1855. The species came into occasional cultivation elsewhere in Europe by 1870, perhaps from the Paris tree) but it is rarely found even in botanic gardens.
