Tree Description:
0-093 – The southwest part of Oak Ridge has several specimens of our dioecious native Kentucky Coffeetree (Gymnocladus dioicus). This one and the one north of it are female trees and bear the decorative pods which cling like ornaments all winter. You will see others nearby, representing both genders. While these trees probably do not date back to the founding of the cemetery, they are slow growing and surely were among some of the very first trees planted here.
