0-094 – The southwest part of Oak Ridge has several outstanding specimens of Kentucky Coffeetree (Gymnocladus dioicus). This one is a male tree and probably the largest one at Oak Ridge. You will see others on this tour, representing both genders. While these trees probably do not date back to the founding of the cemetery, they are slow growing and surely were among some of the first trees planted here. See if you can find the “fossilized” canid footprints nearby!
