Tree Description:
96-08b –A fastigiate form of a European oak, Quercus robur var. salicifolia (narrow-leafed Pedunculate Oak) develops little or no leaf dentition (teeth or lobes). This tree can become an impressive spire well suited to stately grounds such as Oak Ridge. They vary considerably in leaf shape, and this is one of the best at Oak Ridge. It came from the finest of its kind found at the Morton Arboretum growing as their accession 858-60.
