Tree Description:
0-087 – This is a Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra) that was planted at the same time as tree 0-086 and it is one of a group that you can see here growing together. Note the variations as you look from tree to tree. Red oaks are colorful in the fall and can become some of the largest of our common native oaks. Like those of others in their taxonomic group Lobatae, the acorns of northern red oak take two years to mature.
