Tree Description:

94-01– Post oak (Quercus stellata) is a long lived, slow growing, durable, drought tolerant tree that can be very long lived and colorful. The fall foliage colors late and stays around longer than most other trees, which drop there foliage early. There are a few in the old part of Oak Ridge, and they are older than the cemetery itself. This tree was grown in the 1990s from that local grove. In 2025, this species was selected as the official tree of Kirkwood, Missouri, where it thrives under many different and extreme conditions.
