Red Pine – 0-112

2025 Tour

Tree Description:

0-112– Red pine (Pinus resinosa) is a Midwest native conifer found in the upper parts of the US and Canada, usually on sandy soils but tolerant of other types. It grows slowly to a fairly large size and can live for centuries. The long needles make it attractive from any distance. Given room to grow in sun on well drained friable soil, this tree can thrive here in central Illinois but it can be difficult to find in nurseries due to the competition from faster growing trees.
