0-042 Sunset hybrid maple (Acer truncatum × A. platanoides) was bred by crossing a European species with an Asian one, and therefore does not occur in the wild. It is rarely seen in the landscape, and there probably are only a few elsewhere in Springfield. Our young specimen is developing an attractive habit and has brilliant leaf color each fall.
