Tree Description:
.0-083 Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) is reviled by many people due to its prickly fruits (gumballs) which can be treacherous underfoot. In the right place, this species makes a colorful, disease-resistant, long-lived shade tree with many attractive features. There is another attractive specimen in the northeastern part of the cemetery (tree 0-039), and they can be compared each fall for variations in their spectacular autumn color.
