Tulip Tree – 0-105

Tree Description:

0-105  – One member of a row of Tuliptrees (Liriodendron tulipifera), this tree and its cohorts were well established when the nursery began and were left in place. This is a good place to see several of these trees together and compare the subtle variability of their growth habits and foliage. Tuliptree, a magnolia relative, becomes one of the tallest of all trees native to Illinois. It grows well here when planted but is confined in nature to more forested areas far east and south of Springfield.
