Tree Description:
94-07– This tree is a hybrid of Quercus robur ‘Fastigiata’ (the cypress oak) from Europe and Quercus bicolor, the swamp white oak from North America. It is found in nurseries occasionally when propagated from one parent (usually the European one) that was pollinated by wind from the other one, growing nearby in the nursery. This particular tree came as F1 (first filial) from the Riverbank Oak in Petersburg, Illinois, the parent of several named oak cultivars and second generation crosses.
