0-049 White ash (Fraxinus americana) is becoming rare here, and we are losing all ash trees (of all species) that are not being treated for the introduced emerald ash borer. A volunteer arborist is treating this tree as well as a green ash at the cemetery office, and we expect those to be the only ash trees remaining once the borers have completed their cycle of destruction. This tree is female (seed-bearing) while the green ash is male. For comparison of the species, see 0-028.
